Beaumont...or Benton and Paul

It was determined yesterday that we might have a flight to one of our favorite breakfast destinations Beaumont Ks a short oh 70 miles or so away. I have been having problems with tachs on my plane for awhile and Terry Alley had switched engines and his tach didn’t work on his new plane and actually had the right hours for mine so he sold it to me at a very reasonable price and we determined to meet and exchange monies. Upon arriving at the field where Chris and Brian were already preparing to take off I mentioned that Beaumont was supposed to be fogged in, and that if they looked we had a lot too. Brian in his Quick decided to go because it would be burnt off by the time he got there. Chris decided to fly a bit behind him because the Quick is the only plane in the hangar he can outrun. A quick call to Terry reveled that he to was under a fog watch, as I prepared to take off with Chris it was mentioned that I was supposed to meet Terry at Benton, not Beaumont so a quick call to Terry and yep I was once again headed to the wrong airport but at least it was on the way sort of if you made a 90degree turn after a couple miles. Flew to Benton and to the notorious restaurant that has been the nemesis of some of my adventures with Paul. Yes the waitress that caused the damage to my wing was there and this time I was determined to not buy everything on the menu. At this moment Terry pulled out a camera and set it on the table in preparation of my order. It was explained that even though Paul couldn’t be with us, he was to get pictures so he could claim he was there. As a Scottish man once told me and Paul proves. “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story” Nothing exciting happened on the way, the landing there, the meal, the return flight or the arrival at Selby Aerodrome it was a pleasant smooth flight. Which proves to me that all my problems are not related to food, my engine, my tach, my flying, the waitress or any other thing. They only happen when I fly with Paul, so I now have proof that they are Paul’s fault. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Zing! You just don't miss a beat do you Bill! I just happen to have a good memory of all those incidents that slip out of yours so quickly. Chris said you did have a good memory, but it was awfully short. I understand that the Benton Ground Crew had a special golf cart you were to follow when taxiing that said "FOLLOW ME (Bill)". They wanted to keep you from ramming any more hangars.
Glad you guys had a good flight, did you remember to order any food while at the restaurant?

As a matter of fact, I ordered the afterburner, which again proved to be more food than I could eat. Since I am on a new program to make my Max fly faster (loose 48 Pounds of fat) I have now lost 20 of it and have only been eating about 1300 calories I just can't seem to eat a real full meal. It was a great flight for sure. I got in another few hours of flying this morning, 4 mph winds where were you?

I was "paying my dues"---took my wife out to breakfast. Now I am good for a couple more weeks of flying without guilt!

...And we're still waiting a pic of the waitress wearing her latest outfit
Don't tell us you flew that 70 miles leg just for the burger

I am yet to get a picture of her as I become star struck and tongue tied but Paul did snap this pic of her as she was leaving.

Tongue tied? Hell, he was stepping on it and drooling all over the place when I was with him previously. You do have to admit---that IS nice stitching!
