Well here she is, I flew it 4 plus hrs today, 4 different airports with paved runways and a good grass strip about 30 landings in all. Took my bi-annual & a C-170 check out. No ground loops so he said passed.
It had been a good while since I flew a "real airplane" as he called it, so he pushed me a little, But I enjoyed the challenge. Only thing I didn't like was the HKS @ 2.5 GPH vrs C=145 @ 7.5 GPH. It was a good day. OOW

Hi Oscar...
Beautiful  C170.   It was one of the bests engineered light planes ever designed.  The early model 172 series may have been a little easier to fly in cross wind situations, but they were both like sitting in an easy chair and looking out of a large picture window.

I have fun (and a little terror) flying my mini-max but my best airplane is a Taylorcraft.  Now that you have the 170 you need to start saving for the T-Craft.

Good flying to you

Nice plane. Had a early model 172 (56 I think, my memory sucks, anyway it was one of the first model years). I always thought it was heavy on the yoke. Guess the Champ I had before the 172 spoiled me. Still kicking my rear for letting the Champ go.
