My local airport had an open house this weekend so on Saturday I put my Max on display. I took this picture of six kids that were facinated by my airplane. I'll never know for sure what influence my Max will have on their future, but just maybe there's a pilot in the bunch. Only time will tell! Somewhere along the line all of us Buzzards were exposed to airplanes and we never got it out of our systems.

That was really nice of you to display your airplane to the kids. I applaud your efforts to make a good impression on the younger crowd.

Way to go Dick!  The impact on youngsters when you have your plane on display is measured only in  their reaction.  Facial expression, mouth position, dropped arms, staring etc.  Then set  them in  the cockpit and have them  manipulate the controls and watch the moving surfaces.  The light  bulb comes on, big time!

You are doing a tremendous favor for those youngsters, your plane is non-threatening, easy to understand  and "kid-sized".  It is approachable and  understandable by them, their parents too.

Just look at the expression on  this youngster who was  in my plane last weekend during a Young Eagles event.  That says a lot.  Keep up the promotion wherever you can, you are subtly inspiring kids in ways you cannot imagine.  Many will go  home tonight and dream about their experience. You are an aviation ambassador!

Wow, Is she's a cutie! I'd bet that one of the boy's in my picture would like to meet the girl in your picture. He'd probably forget about airplane for awhile. Nice picture. I do try to push aviation every chance I get.  I've had to much fun with airplanes all my life not to share.

Maybe I will have to dig it up but somewhere there is a pic of me after I met Paul under similar circumstances. Yes Paul, you do a good job of inspiring us younger folks. According to my folks, they were hoping that my desire to fly ultralights would pass with time but here I am today 4 years later and 21 years old.

What is it that makes us go "up there", I dont know why I do it but I cant imagine living my life without flying!

When in doubt just use full throttle.... it might not help but it will end the suspense.

Dick,
Cool! I think there are more of us with miniMAX type airplanes that can relate to this. I've had kids ask if they could sit in my miniMAX as their parents took pictures. I hope in some way it was an influence and maybe some of them learned to fly because of that experience.
