well yesterday we had our annual dawn patrol, unfortunately we had colder temps and overcast so turn out was lower then usual but still pretty good and some really cool planes, there was a civilian huey, 2 AT-6, a BT 13, 4 different life flight choppers, a midget mustang, a grumman, an air cam, and dozens of others. it amazed me that with all those planes there was a constant crowd around the mini max and questions galore. i even had people hunting me down while i was voluntering at our flying club booth to ask me about the MAX. it was very cool. i hope to schedule my final inspection soon so i can do the maiden flight.

Congratulations! You did a great job building such a beautifull Max, without any doubts "The star of the show"

Wow! That's a good looking airplane. Well done. Good luck on the test flight. Nice looking airport. Is that where you will base your Max?

thank you guys for the compliments, and yes it is where the max will be based. it is 3DA dalton airport in flushing mi. we have a 2500' paved north-south and 1700' turf east-west. my back yard borders runway 36 at the threshold so i can just walk out my backdoor and over to my hangar and go fly.

Hey Jake, looks like you had a good turnout for your fly-in.  Your airport is beautiful, as is your EAA facility.  Was this your biggie for making money by serving breakfast?  Your plane looks just grand, is this the same partially completed one I saw on the grass in front of your house that was being used as a lawn ornament?  Good luck with  your maiden flight, we will be waiting to hear about it.

yes this was our big event for the year that pays for all of our young eagle events we host throughout the year, we did 3 this weekend alone, 1 on friday and 2 on saturday (a fixed wing and further down the strip helicoptor rides) our chapter is actually looking to start a golden eagles program getting former pilots up for rides, and then expanding it to any senior that has an interest in aviation. and yes it the same bird, just a few more dollars in parts and a bit more paint on it.
