Origins of my Minimax

After 1500+ hours of work, my Minimax is finally completed and ready for engine and ground test.
However, I don't deserve all the credits.
In Nov of 1992, Minimax 1100 Kit # 581 was bought by Mr. Tobe A. Morrow who bought it from a Florida TEAM dealer named Bill Frost.  This first owner did only 98 hours in the project and for some reason stopped working. Nine years later, in May of 2001, another Florida builder named Kenneth Barr, bought it from Mr. Morrow but also bought the conversion kit for the 1600R. This second builder put 192 working hours in the project until October 2002.
Two years later, in October 2004, after searching in the internet, I bought the project from Mr. Barr in Daytona FL. for  $900.- including the 1600R conversion kit, the dual wing tanks and the metal landing gear among other items. A friend of mine, who lives in Sarasota FL, kept it at home for a couple of months. Later, I traveled to the US, bought a new 447 with the reduction drive, some instruments and brakes and other things, placed everything in a U-haul and drove it to Miami where a crate was made for the long shipping to Peru. It arrived to its final destination in February of 2005. Since then until June of 2011 I have put over 1200 hours of night work. Some of the delay was due to a severe earthquake in 2007.
Today I'm glad I have finished the project and I'm very pleased with the results.
I also built a 1000 ft grass runway on my land that looks as nice as the plane.
Sorry to disappoint you for not placing the latest pictures at the moment, but I'll make it up next week. (runway included)
Thanks again to all of you; this work is the result of your help through this magnificent site and my late night work at the farm.

Ricardo,
Your workmanship looks outstanding so I can see why you have 1500+  hours of building time. Good luck on the engine runs and test flight.

Ricardo,

I personally have really enjoyed watching your project form into a beautiful example of a Minimax. You have done a marvelous job on the aircraft and I hope to read many flying adventures about you and your wonderful creation. Your a great craftsman.

We will be looking for more photos Ricardo, both the plane  and the runway.  Your craftsmanship looks  teriffic, you probably make  fine wooden furniture  too don't you?  If not,  you sure could.   Hey, I noticed you use  the same style of tailwheel support as  I do when filling my  wingtanks.

I just came back for the Gathering of Eagles  fly-in in Gardner, KS last evening, will post photos sometime this week.

Good luck in the  continuation of your flying  activity, you certainly deserve it  for  your  perserverence.

Time for initial tests is up. Minor corrections had to be done, some  electric due to  all  "extras", brake adjustments and I had to finish  the "rear compartment" didn't want to leave that area open. I need to calculate the limit weight for that area , also insert some hooks for bungees to keep  stuff secure.
