NO I am a bigger pilot so I try to stay away from to much extra weight, two wing tanks and basic instrumentation, no electric start for now.

Simple is good. The plane I had the most fun with was my Champ. Basic instrumentation and hand propped. But I still want that Max experience.

my max flies very straight and true, most of the time in straight and level flight I don't have to use much rudder at all, of course I do have a rudder tab on it,but like I said makes it easy to fly no fighting it in the air unless very turbulent then that can be hairy.  I still have to add a little dihedral to my right wing, havent dont that yet, just keep flying it but it will only make it better.  The max experience has been a good one for me, though it started out pretty bumpy.

well I got a break today with a 10mph direct cross wind but not bad at all.  I was able to get 58 minutes of flight,  4 good landings and take offs.  I added the dihedral on to my right wing and it did the trick stick in now centered don't have to use a  lot of left aileron to keep it centered, or plane horizontally straight.  Flew around the patch for a while and then wondered out away for  bit.  I used my amsoil today for the first time at 80:1 and it ran perfect I will have to do just a one tank check to get my actual fuel burn.  I think its around 4 gph.  I actually flew 24 minutes on one tank and knew I only had three gallon in it so I didn't want to take a chance of running out of gas so I switched tanks, not a big deal but being the first tank on the amsoil I was a little bit skiddish at first.   I loved the video of mountain flying that was just made, I will have to make one it won't be as pretty of scenery but its not bad at all.
A great day of flying the plane did fantastic, handled the cross winds well.  Just a great day in the air.

Quoted from dayflyer ... I added the dihedral on to my right wing ...

Dave: Not that I need it but ¿How do you do that?
dayflyerFebruary 21, 2012, 3:11am
by lengthening the front wingstrut which raised the dihedral of that wing.  I had to be careful not make the washout to much or I would end up dutch rolling all the time very unsafe.

Do you have  an adjustable front strut or you just change the insert?
dayflyerFebruary 21, 2012, 9:46pm
just extend the insert change is better or turn around, I made mine a little longer than stock about 12 inches going into the strut.
