Himax in the air, bbq sunday

We had two nice days here in Hungary. Sunday morning I did my first takeoffs with the re-built landing gear. I put some more pressure into the tires and yes , its less roll on the ground before takeoff.
Than celebrated the day with bbq with some friends at the airfield. I took some kids flying first time with the ICP Bingo, than to immerse totally in pleasure I did some landings and takeoffs with the Himax. Its really pleasure to fly this aircraft, I was a bit worried about the engine but no surprise so far, max rpm during takeoff goes only till 4700 so probably I will reduce 1-2 degree on pitch. This will increase the cruise RPM from the present 3600 to 3800 but probably better climb performance could be achieved. I have no clue about consumption yet but its probably less than 2.5 gal /h. EGT is fixed well below the max, but cyl head in full power goes to the max which I try to fix by reducing prop pitch. During cruise is absolutely perfect.
Yesterday I did some 50 min in the air and I enjoy this little wonder the more I fly with it. I feel like a spoiled kid, with these planes. I am really thankful for you guys here in this forum for helping me with advices and I am happy if I could contribute with my experience.

a mile of road will take you a mile, a mile of runway can take you anywhere.

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return

Glad to hear you are enjoying your airplane and I wish all of your flights can be as satisfying as the first.

If that is your bingo there it looks like a zenith 701 just a little shorter nose
I will fly my max and enjoy it to the max

Yest thats mine.... shorter nose is because it has a 100 HP Simonini Victor 2 plus instead of a 912. ICP was one of the distributor of Zenith before they started to build (copy) their own.
