Our little group of 4 people yesterday made some very nice sunset flights to two nearby airports at north of Hungary overflying some of the greatest historical sites. Esztergom city our first destination grassfield airport was founded in 900 and our very first king was babtized here in 975. Esztergom airport was used by the russians before the iron curtain collapsed and now its one of the airfield of gliders, UL and single engine planes Hungary. We over flew Visegrad castle and fortress remains which played very important rules again Tatar and Turkish invasion in 13th-16th century. Than we stopped at Dunabogdany very small gras strip, and 45 min before sunset we were heading back to our home airport, just crossing over Castle of Nograd remains (11th century). Hungary is loaded with these remains and castles, protecting Europe from Turks and Tatars from these ages. You can hardly fly 30 miles without crossing one of these.
We had 3 very relaxing smooth sweet weather afternoons which unfortunately will end today as a storm coming in with 50 mph winds.
Its such a joy to fly Himax over these places.

absolutely beautiful and thank you for sharing
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return

very nice, and its always great to have someone to fly with, I usually fly alone, no one here owns a  mini max, challenger and most of our GA planes are hangar queens.
I will fly my max and enjoy it to the max

I would love to be able to get me a plane and actually find someone close to be able to fly with on occasion.

Ok, Hungary is now on my short list of places to visit!  Love the aerial shots, especially those with a strut or two in them.

We hit two castles and 3 fortress remains of our wonderful 90 min flight today.  One of our famous World heritage site : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holl%C3%B3k%C5%91
When we arrived back to our home airport my friend conviced me to take a short trip with his trike and  we had engine failure during takeoff.  That was really short one.  We managed to land, pulled the plugs and it seems its a fuel supply problem. The plugs are very clean or white, and I assume, at high power there is not enough fuel, maybe its a mixture problem or fuel level in the carburettors. We will check out today. That simonini victor 2 plus 100 HP engine consumes only 2 gal /h. During our flight there was no sign of any sort of problem, but when the plane is fully loaded.
