I had an opportunity to fly in the 1926 Ford Tri-Motor last weekend as part of our EAA chapter's annual fly-in. You might enjoy watching the 2 minute video.

Cool Paul. My wife and I were going to ride in it at Oshkosh last year, but never took the time to. Looks like lots of fun though.
I had to log into FB to see the video. You may have to post it a different way for those that don't do fB.

a mile of road will take you a mile, a mile of runway can take you anywhere.

Hi Paul,
One of the pilots for EAA on the Ford used to work for me as a lineboy.... he was only 14 yrs at the time...yep,
it was illegal. That was about 1962. His name is Ed Rousch. Saw him for the first time this spring ... he has
been flying all over the world in just about everything made. He now manages the airport in Coldwater Michigan.
I gave him his first three flying lessons in a Taylorcraft.

Cool video Paul, thanks for sharing! That plane will be here this weekend. I think I'll buy my dear old dad a ride in it. How long does the flight last?

Ted, it must be nice to see the connections that are made throughout your aviation career. You most likely had an impact on that fellow when you were his CFI. Ken, the total time in the airplane is about 30 minutes, actual flight time is 15 to 20 minutes. They charge $75 per person, I believe it to be the least expensive vintage airplane ride avaiable. Both the B-17 , B-25 are over $400, I am not sure what a ride in the B-29 costs.

Great photos Ken! When I first saw this plane many years ago, I though someone had found an old barn and turned it into an airplane!
I like the courigated shadow photo!

I flew in one of these a few years ago at an airshow, there was on older gentleman behind me in line for a ticket and the price was 40.00 for a ride so they guy told the captain that the last time he flew in one of these it was only a dollar for the ride but the plane was new, so the captain let him on for only a dollar pretty cool of the captain.

Respect and gratitute for the elder is something we don't see very often any more.
