A friend posted these pics to his Facebook page.  He said someone flew the Aeromax into a hangar last September.  In Texas, I think.

Anyone heard of this?

Ouch! That engine wasn't running at iddle for certain. Lets wait for the four leged inspector report  .

I heard about it. Its the AeroMAX Dave hauled to Texas last fall.
Don't remember any other details.

a mile of road will take you a mile, a mile of runway can take you anywhere.

Loss of control on take-off resulting in compound fractures requiring 6 surgeries (so far). Here is his report: He said he intended to fast taxi but the plane became airborne and turned left. He said he couldn't correct it and when he tried to reduce power, that didn't respond either. He doesn't know why it turned or why he couldn't reduce power.

The new owner said, "Believe it or not, this is the entire airplane. It is beyond repair but has some good parts, instruments, hardware and possibly a good engine."

That's interesting..... Metal gear, but a wooden fuse.... looks different than the minimax metal gear....... Hmmmmm.

Same tailwheel as I have tho.

. Could the option of putting ones feet inside the fuselage prevented the foot injuries mentioned in this particular case?

Look at the nose of the fuselage....do you see anything that looks like "inside"?

I think the giant fish head under the rudder in the picture was the problem

That's funny!

(the fish head--not the crash)
