Pleasure Flight
July 3, 2014
Three beautiful days of Kansas light plane flying occurred last week. Wayne Clevenger and I each flew our AirBikes on separate days, on the third, we were able to coordinate a paired local pleasure flight. Wind was 5 MPH or less, temperature at 80 F, and the late evening sky was cloudless. Both rare and absolutely marvelous flying conditions!
Wayne agreed to take point, I would be his wingman. I wanted to take some aerial photos of him to add to his collection and for posting on facebook.
Kansas has just had its third wettest June on record, almost 11" of rain fell. Mostly in brief 2" deluges that would strangle a frog. The rain came too late to save the wheat crop that was dying because of the drought. But it was a boon for the corn and soy bean crops. Because of softened ground, it eliminated much of our state wide potential for off-airport landings. Not that we needed them!
Anyway, enjoy the photos of the Kansas scenery and Wayne's plane. Also, there is one of the camera ship--my AirBike having just reached 980 TT hours!
