The temperature had cooled to just over 80 degrees, density altitude was 3,800 feet, and the 8 mph wind was straight down the runway. These conditions represent the first reasonable flying day in over two weeks.
So what's a fellow to do when this happens, well, go flying of course!
Since there hasn't been much aviation action on the board recently, my posts may stir your imaginations and motivate some to take flight and post more photos and videos.
These photos were all taken August 29, 2014 between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm over the south central Kansas countryside. That is the Wichita area of Kansas.
Note the photos of my instruments, all temperatures are in the acceptable range now and yes, that GPS 75 mph speed indication is accurate. Pretty good for the draggy AirBike!
It was a good evening to fly in shorts and T-shirt. I smoked so many people that I ran out of smoke oil! It is fun waving to people on their decks and farmers harvesting crops in the fields. (And those surprised couples making out in the weeds!)
I wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Labor Day weekend.
