Still working on a way to keep the Eros assembled so that I can fly it around the Palouse; In meantime, yesterday's flight in Eros big brother wasn't too bad...

I suppose if I just hike that hill, and haul away the pot of gold, I will be able to afford a hangar for the Eros...

The photos are surreal....absolutely beautiful countryside! I especially like the top photo in your third post; which is tagged "reply 2 - 6". So, just exactly where is "the Palouse"? Beautiful views from an airplane for sure, but it looks like it would be a great area to travel via motorcycle too.

Wonderful! I like pic # 1968 , perfect to be framed and placed in the living room. Very surreal as Lynn mentioned.
Is that Idaho territory?

Beautiful pictures.

It took me a few minutes to figure out that the bare ground is farm fields. My oldest granddaughter attended New St. Andrews College in Moscow for one semester and when driving from Spokane to Moscow I saw a lot of fields that I would be afraid to farm.

Thanks for the pictures.

Had to head down to Moscow again today for a research meeting, so buzzed over to PUW for another evening tour... The Palouse is the agriculture land in Idaho and Eastern Washington, south of Spokane.  Snake River, Clearwater, Grande Ronde rivers and more miles of rolling terrain than can be imagined. They build special combines to farm the terrain. To east are "northern" Rockies into Montana. When I was in grad school out here I used to fly my Aeronca 11AC to keep my sanity... Now its the Mooney.... Soon, I hope to be a max or two... (Eros just sitting in trailer waiting to be assembled).

It is a fabulous place to fly... just space, space and more space... and I am never disappointed in the view...

It is fabulous motorcycle country Lynn!  Someday I hope to get my '83 Goldwing out here.... Until then, I do my best to enjoy the scenery and terrain in these rides

Unbelievable....an '83 Gold Wing is exactly what I have! Is the color of your GW by any chance the maroon-ish "Wineberry" color?

My wife just retired a couple weeks ago, and we hope to do some motorcycle touring before I get too old and crotchety to ride 2-up, which could be any day now

Back in the late nineties I had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone Park in Wyoming  and then drove  east to see some potato land in west Idaho. Later I visited the  Glacial National Park in  Montana .  All that area, the rockies, is the most beautiful land I have seen in the US...would love to see that place again. The things you can do while being single

Mine is black with gold trim... I am thinking of trying vinyl at least on the vetter full dress. A "barn find" a few years ago... Not perfect, but low miles...

I see lots of float flying places - even places to land and change the gear.

XC trip in C150 is complete!  NH to WA! What a lousy week of weather!  I was hammered day after day. But, I made it. Will post a summary in the next few days... Final leg today was over the Rockies via I90 through Mullan Pass. Normally I would do this in early morning; but, due to a couple of "issues" I got there right in smack middle of very hot day. So, it was a bumpy, sometimes aggravating ride. But, incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, all my pics are through the dirty glass of the 150; but still can get a sense of the splendor . More to follow...
