Overcast flight

Winter is overcast in this area, it means low ceilings and little drizzle.
This afternoon I took the Minimax for a ride, it was dry on land but as soon as I reached 500 ft agl my windshield was full of rain drops, nothing serious to cut the vision, just different. For a place were it never rains this was fun.
Pictures are blurry because of a cheap camera  .

Interesting photos Richardo. That cloud deck seems pretty close to your flying altitude, be careful. Glad you are flying, even in winter.

I have often wondered how much rain it would take before the intake filter got plugged. Hope you do not find out.

Ricardo,
Are you working on your IMC rating ?
Nice try to blame the weather on cheap camera
Be careful mate ! I wanna see some sunny stories from you in the next coming years.

Peter:
I 'm posting part of the video, is not very exiting  but  judge for yourself, is not as bad as it may seem. There's no "real" rain here, all green land is irrigated, dry mountains show it, also there are no electric storms. no shear winds or any other nasty turbulence, best of all wind is minimum in winter, the limit is the ceiling.
I did return to base because it was good enough for the experience. I didn't want to find  a wet runway. if I slide off the runway those trees will ruin my Max and my pride.

Ricardo, If you clean your windshield with  "Pledge furniture polish" or (equivalent) the rain drops will not stay on your windshield..

Thanks Harless, I also have something called RainX or similar but never tested before.
This coming year "El Niño" phenom is supposed to hit harder than ever before, not that I plan to fly under rain but should be ready just in case.

I've used rainX on glass windshields and it works really great and Pledge does almost as good. However I don't know if rainX is safe on polycarbonate..  I would test it on a scrap first..

It's been a busy summer in Wyoming!!  I haven't even flown any RC's since June!  So, I have on occasion dropped in to see what everyone is up to.  Ricardo, I watched your video when you published it.  Nice.  Maybe not exciting like rolls and loops....but I still enjoyed!  I keep checking this Topic in hopes someone will post a new flight.  I know you guys are flying.....get your camera's out so the rest of us can enjoy it too!!  LOL!!
