Awesome Ricardo!!
Larry
a mile of road will take you a mile, a mile of runway can take you anywhere.

Hi Ricardo;
Fantastic, absolutely cool. Shows both of you as great pilots too. Great stuff.
Bob
Fly safe and have fun.

That was really a neat video. Your nephew is talented and imaginative in a very good way.
never surrender; never give-up

I'll chime in too.....THAT was really cool! A new perspective on a MiniMAX flying rather than the usual "standing at the edge of the runway" video.

Great video Ricardo! Congrats to both.
And what a superb landing strip you have - plus all that level ground all around in case you need it.
Thanks for posting
Bruce

I had a camera on my hat when my nephew did the drone video, this one not as nearly nice as the drone views....but better than nothing. Nephew appears at video's end.

Hey another blockbuster video Ricardo.....LOL well done....
I also see that you shot a Hun down and hes on fire , bellowing smoke.........LOL I hope hes now a POW. and safe.
Your aircraft certain seems faster than mine...having a canopy with less drag.
also whats the speed limit for the cars on that road for comparison..?
cheers Arthur

Arthur: My ASI is very optimistic although the plane is streamed up. I had once a reading of 90 mph in straight and level flight at full rpm(shown in youtube) however the plane easily reaches 80 mph. I like the 70 mph although the EGT is at the limit. Speed limit in that road is 100 kph (kilometers) but nobody drives that fast.

Thx Ricardo

Looks like you need to go to larger main jets. EGT's shouldn't be that high at 5740 RPM.

Thanks for your comments Tjspindler.
EGT for this engine has being a hassle since the very first flight. It was a brand new 447 with stock jets operating at sea level.
I expected temperatures to be in the normal range.
CHT is just the opposite, with the free air system that came out of a 503 the cooling is maybe too much and differs from one cyl to the other.
I´ve learned how to play with the throttle to keep EGT within range. Probably the only thing I don't like when doing "not level and straight flights".

In the video I cannot see any screws where the cowling airflow divider would be so it looks to me like you don't have one, if not you should make one, it can be adjusted to even out the CHTs.
something like this as in my super-cowls.
RicardoDecember 23, 2015, 3:00pm
Thanks for the help George! There's no airflow divider in it and no trace that ever had one. I'll work on it.
Arthur WithyDecember 23, 2015, 3:05pm
yes it is nice of George to pick up on that..
nice work

What is your static RPM on the ground?
