Found a copy of the June '87 Sport aviation mag, it seems that at least one Himax was convertible between tail wheel and tricycle landing gear.

I'd like to take a peek at the plans for a tricycle HiMax.

The idea of a "Milk Stool" Hi-Max does intrigue me. But I must keep such thoughts from my mind or I will never get this thing flying at all.

Based on the magazine article it looks like conversion from tailwheel to milk stool is pretty simple and it reuses the stock landing gear.

basically just flip the MAINS around (easy enough, other than a blue billion screws), and install/remove the nose-gear (No idea how that's done).

I don't think the mains are unscrewed, the hinge pin is removed, the gear flipped and then hinge pins re-inserted.

he trig-gear option on the website seems to be similar https://www.teammini-max.com/online-store/misc-parts/
