I am looking at my plans and see that the struts main length that goes to the rear spar attachment is made from RS 404, but I don't see the front material listed, is its main length RS 404 as well? Thanks

Which aircraft are you building? There are several different Struts. I had a 1700R, and my front was different from my back. There are steel and aluminum ones as well......

Exchanged email with one John Friesen Vmax with 1600vw. He was very happy with the way it flew but said it was difficult to land.Hope you complete your two wings soon.

what was the difficulty in landing?

He says its an Absolute blast to fly in the air and wasnt difficult to fly but he finds it difficult to keep straight on T/O and Landing. Two of his
friends who are trained on Citabria ground looped it.
He says he has about 400 hours on Avid/kitfox aircraft.

Can you get some pictures of his tailwheel set up?
PUFFAugust 14, 2019, 1:53pm
I found that a blast of power helps a bit at low speeds for turning, as the rudder is very ineffective at low speeds. the tailwheel is squirrely, so i kept the tail up as long as possible. that was on mine anyway. .

Can you get some pictures of his tailwheel set up?
Not possible. But seems most likely his setup is giving the problems as he didnt build it himself. The wheels may be
mis aligned.
