I cannot find any reference to a elevator trim tab for the tandem airbike, would one be required ? Has anyone found that they are not required?

I don´t know if a trim tab is required, but I have a picture an electric trim tab system from the single seat Air-Bike plans. Tell me if you want the drawing in pdf format, and I can PM it to you. It has a far better resolution.

That would be awesome if I could have that drawing as I think a trim tab would be required for the tandem airbike, given The differences in loading configurations

All such things are fun to build (electric trim) but there is something to be said for the "keep it simple stupid" bungee attached to the stick approach. (move it up and down on the stick to add more or less trim)

There is something to be said for a separate cable-operated elevator trim vs using bungees to simply reduce stick loads.  In the unlikely event of the elevator Teleflex cable failing,  you could use the trim tab to land the plane.

My Himax had a lawnmower type throttle quadrant with cable to adjust the elevator trim tab.  It worked quite well; I could fly hands off, using the rudder to steer left/right, and trim tab for elevation.

I would be quite interested in a hi-res copy of that trim tab drawing for my Tandem project. Could you email me a copy as well, Petter?
