Summer Morning Flight

I climbed out of bed at 5:30am this morning and headed out to the airport to enjoy the still morning air. The mighty VW was a bit troublesome to get going today but after much flipping roared to life and purred like a kitten after warming up. Taking the runway at 7:15am with a light crosswind of 8kts I opened the throttle and climbed into the morning sky. I did 5 touch and goes before derparting westward for a local flight. The sun was shining and the sky was a magnificent shade of blue. The fields of corn and wheat spread out below like the squares of a quilt. After following the Arksnsas river  for a few miles as it meandered through the fields i pointed the nose back towards home. Entering the pattern I performed one last touch and go before circling back for a full stop and heading for the hangar.

It was a great way to start the day, I Logged about 45 minutes of flying time and 7 takeoffs and landings. Wind was about 50deg off centerline at 8kts most of the time and the Vmax handled it with ease. It sure is good to be flying a max again.

When in doubt just use full throttle.... it might not help but it will end the suspense.
