Can anyone tell me how much should the tail wheel rotate at full rudder? I modified the assembly to use two springs instead of the fixed steering rod and maybe I have made the arm on the wheel side too wide because I have the feeling that the wheel is not rotating enough.

hi Giacomeli
The arm looks maybe a bit too wide, but before you remake it, wait until you've tried taxiing. I don't think the tailwheel does much in the way of directional control, most comes from the rudder.

I did tried to taxi, slow and without wings on, and while it was working, the radius of the turn was too wide. I didn't have to re-make it, I just bended the two arms of the tailwheel horn a bit more to make the springs and chain run almost parallel, as per the attached illustration in one of the Tony Bingelis book. I should have consulted the book earlier.

Good idea. Bet it was fun taxiing. Good to put a bit more time on the engine, too. You'll be flying in Spring!
