Lots of Changes in my life over the last 2 years while the Vmax has been sitting idle in a Tee hangar at KWLD with recurring carburetor issues and I've spent the limited time I've had for aviation flying my Pietenpol and rebuilding a Quicksilver MXII. Last month I moved into my dream home, a combination hangar / house on a local grass strip. Monday I rolled the Vmax into the sunlight for the 1st time since January 1st 2023 and washed off 2 years worth of dirt. After disassembling and cleaning the Weber carb, changing the oil, and tanking her up with fresh 100LL the VW came to life after about a hundred flips (ok maybe 20 but it felt like a hundred). I gave her a thorough run up, lubed the hinges and linkages and checked over the engine and airframe for any issues and having deemed her airworthy departed at 20 minutes til sunset on the 15 mile flight north to her new home where she now shares a hangar with my piet, quicksilver, weedhopper, and Paul's Airbike. The VW purred all the way and it was a wonderfully smooth flight in the cool evening air. Landing was uneventful in the light easterly wind and after pulling up on the ramp outside the hangar I was treated to a spectacular kansas sunset reminding me how blessed I am to be enjoying this hobby we all love.

When in doubt just use full throttle.... it might not help but it will end the suspense.
