Fall Flying

Last night, October 26th, turned out to be a beautiful evening for flying. Air temperature was around 65deg with a light north easterly breeze around 7 or 8 knots. I departed Cherokee Strip (18KS) at 5:45pm for an hour long flight to check out the fall color beginning to show up here on the Kansas plains. My route of flight took me SE from udall to the Oxford airport then west around the town of Oxford. From Oxford I turned northwest, flying over the town of Belle Plain then north east to Mulvane before making the final turn back to the SE to return home. The corn and soy bean harvest is complete and the cotton harvest is well underway leaving many options for emergency landings should the need arise. As the leaves fall from the trees and another flying season draws to a close I think back on all the flying seasons that have come and gone, and how blessed I have been to be able to enjoy the freedom of flight.

Here is a video for you hungry buzzards.

Chris

When in doubt just use full throttle.... it might not help but it will end the suspense.
